I remember taking this movie in when it was a mandate for me to check as many sub-title joints as possible. It may seem like a weird display of a character, but in Amelie I appreciate Audrey Tatou's portrayal of an innocent early 20 year old Amelie Poulain. I know it's just a movie, but the theme of stripping down to the basic pulse for happiness is throughout this movie and has me enjoying it thoroughly. The dialogue is witty and the mischievousness of Amelie is precious. If you're looking for something that you might have missed checked the trailer below, this is a good one.
